Toys Made Cool
So these aren't necessarily your typical kid's games. We're talking stylish "toys of art" that cost well over $100 each. I do think they would make for a fun coffee table piece.

Home Candy
European inspiration.
Love it.
I've been out of town for a wedding (pics to come) and I'm in the process of finding a new adventure (AKA job), so I apologize for the blog absence. Thanks for stopping by!

Sofa Dreams
I made the mistake of actually sitting still and looking through the Anthropologie catalog this weekend. Why was this a mistake? Because, of course, I want to buy everything!!
Why do I like it? Let me count the ways...
1) The length is fabulous for tons of company or a good nap
2) Plaid cushions of various colors mean no throw pillows (all men rejoice!)
3) Because of the variety of color, you can mix and match other decor items in the room
4) You know it's sturdy and a good quality piece at the price of $6,000
5) It's from Anthropologie :)

Ribbonesia
Ribbonesia is a project by artist and illustrator 'BAKU' Maeda. All created by hand with ribbon. None of the animals are the same. I'd like to take one home with me!

Lauren Moffatt
lovin' the bow hat with the printed dress
this outfit takes me back to the days of wearing uniforms at my private school - i love the combination of the plaid shorts and blazer
i'd have a hard time feeling comfortable in this one because i'd feel like i'd need more than just tights on the bottom, but the top is great!
oh-so feminine and a bit flirtatious, don't you think?
really like the two skirts ↑↓ with the cute belted waistbands and ruffles!

Shanna Murray
I recently won a giveaway through Oh, Hello Friend of Shanna Murray's amazing wall decals. I am so excited for them to arrive! Her shop includes garlands, sweet tidings, creatures, or home prints. Here's a peek at her fabulous work...
While "googling" her name, I came across this oh-so-creative window display she did. How cute is that patchwork balloon, the city backdrop, and balloon sky?!
Thanks, Shanna!

Pump It Up!
I got a little pump happy two weeks ago and jumped on purchases of these cute black peep-toe pumps and gray booties. I featured the booties in another post here, and after placing them on the blog, I just knew I had to go for it. And I did and they fit and they're super cute — hope to post images of them on me soon! What do ya think? Any recent pump buys for you?

Voodoo Magic
Takin' it back to the '70s with the Rhodes Kids!
Now you must be thinking one of the two: who are they or oh my gosh, I remember them!! Either way, they hold a pretty special place in my heart because it's my family. Yep, these retro songsters consist of my mom, her five brothers (the youngest coming along down the years totaling six) and her younger sister. Read about 'em below... I'm pretty proud. Oh, and, at least listen to the video below for a few seconds. Sure to put you in a good mood ;)
(my mom's the redhead)
Their mom was a virtuoso pianist while their dad was a chemical engineer for Exxon. Their mom trained all of them in piano early. They also trained under other teachers in the instruments of their choice. It was inevitable that they would start a band. They called themselves “The Rhodes Kids.” They started out just for fun, performing in a local talent show. Eventually, they signed a contract with a manager and agent, and before long they were on the fast–track.
They performed in lots of exciting places, such as the International Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas with B.B. King. During that gig, Elvis Presley was in the Main Room at the same hotel. It was fun for them to see him almost every night—though he always had his “posse” of bodyguards around him. Soon, they graduated to the Main Show Room and did 40 shows with Ann Margret. While there, Bob Hope came to see their show and graciously paid a visit to their dressing room. They also enjoyed performing at the Main Room at the Flamingo Hilton with Barbara Eden (“I Dream of Genie”). During the years that followed, they performed concerts at Disneyland, Disneyworld, state fairs, concert venues, and various entertainment centers.
Additionally, in the 1970s they appeared on numerous network television shows, including the Merv Griffin Show, Mike Douglas Show (along with Richard Chamberlain), Dinah Shore Show (along with Jackie Gleason), American Bandstand with Dick Clark, Jerry Lewis Telethon (with Wayne Newton and Sammy Davis Jr.), a Walt Disney Special with Luci Arnez*, an Easterseal Telethon with Peter Falk, and many others. These TV shows opened up a world of opportunity as they performed from New York to California. They now each have families of their own with children (21 in total) who are also quite musically talented.

Pia Jane Bijkerk is a stylist, photographer, and author living in Sydney, Paris, and on a houseboat in Amsterdam. Through her work, her motto of "enhance the every day" is seen. She has written a book on the many interesting sites and secrets of Amsterdam and has a fascinating blog with even more inspirational photography.
I'd really enjoy grabbing a cup of tea with her to hear about her worldly adventures and creative knowledge!
