I know this look has been featured before, but I think it's interesting and sweet and worth yet another glimpse ;) Whoever thought that prize ribbons would make their way into being used as decor? I have a few from track meets 'back in the day' but none as cute as the ones below. Mine were royal blue that eventually faded into white if neglected in the gym bag with gold lettering that could easily be scratched off. Don't get me wrong, as a youngster I was very proud of those ribbons and to this day, I probably have some sitting in a memorabilia box.
I do love the idea of featuring some feminine, brightly colored ribbons on the wall. Brocade Home's all white room below is my inspiration for this post. I spotted it awhile ago when I received their catalog and instantly was struck with amusement of their use of colorful prize ribbons - a surprising, yet creative touch!
My need for more inspiration didn't stop there. I spotted a few oh-so-fun prize ribbon making tutorials that I've listed below. Check 'em out!
What's your take on prize ribbons as a splash of decor?

These ideas are really cute! But I definitely agree - none of the ribbons I ever got were even half that cute.
ReplyDeleteNow, if only I could think of something interesting to do with all of my husband's old trophies that he wants to keep around...
Thanks, ladies ;-)
ReplyDeletePaige - good thought... maybe he'll let you spray paint them to create a flower vase like this: http://www.eleganceredefined.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/trophy-vase.jpg
